Meet Monica
Meet Monica:)
Hi everyone! My name is Monica Scheper. I opened Connect Kidz Yoga studio in the Fall of 2020 to share the magic and healing that yoga brings. Children needed a safe space during that time to feel and find their inner peace, so when the opportunity presented itself, I transformed the space and alongside Maggie Barta began to offer what we could to our community.
Colleen Wilkens of Body Renovations PT East, who is now in charge of the space, began sharing the space with us in 2021. Check out her new website here:

Currently I am on a sabbatical for a year long herbalism training through the Matthew Wood Herbalism Institute. I will resume my weekly Wednesday afternoon yoga class in the Fall and would love to share the healing wisdom I learn with you and your family.
My background is in education with a bachelor’s in middle childhood from the University of Dayton and a master’s degree in elementary education from DePaul University. Before staying home to raise my 3 children, I taught preschool, kindergarten, 4th and 6th grade.
I have been practicing yoga for almost 15 years and earned my kids yoga training certifications from Global Family Yoga in both a 95 hour kids yoga training program, as well as a 45 hour therapeutic applications of kids yoga. Over the years, I have also taken many mindfulness classes from the Center of Healthy Minds in Madison, the Milwaukee Mindfulness Practice Center and The Himalayan Yoga and Mindfulness Center. I always try to incorporate mindfulness tools and practices in every class.
I love spending my free time in nature, learning about plant healing, cooking and eating delicious food, playing with my children and traveling the world! My hope is to continue to offer what I learn to our community and worldwide with a special place in my heart to help orphans and refugees worldwide.
